Hope you’re all enjoying the weather and the subsequent storms that cool things off and water the grass (mine is actually green this year!). It was fabulous to have such a great turn-out last week – some returning after long absences, and other faces that grow brighter as we see them week-to-week! Hooray for MW! We’re on [...] It was really great to see so many of you last week for ‘Joy’! This week we’re on to ‘Peace’. So, instead of making bombs, we’re making flowers – this week’s craft will be creating our own seed balls for planting. Great fun and a great idea, yet again, from Ginette – our Messier-in-chief! For dins, we’ll [...] Our friend Owen over at Prairie Mill Bakery in Terwillegar came through again with beautiful loaves of bread – all donated to the cause. Toppings aplenty made sure there were no two sandwiches alike in the whole big gathering. The young and old among us learned lots about ‘Joy’ – the second fruit of the Spirit – [...] Tomorrow we’re taking up a suggestion from many of our attendees – we’ll be making our own sandwiches. We’ll grab a couple more loaves from our great friend and supporter Owen over at Prairie Mills so that those who come along only need bring toppings. Lesson time will be a continuation of our series on the fruits [...] Well, after what feels like a long hiatus (plus a step forward and one-and-a-half back!), Terwillegar’s Quiet Garden is back on track. An anonymous donor (both a local community resident and a parishioner at HTR) donated some monies to get things going, and momentum has already started. An enthusiastic crew shared coffee and cinnamon buns (from [...] Tonight saw 43 people cooking, chopping, and chatting in the big warm basement at HTR – a new Messy Wednesday record. We saw lots of new faces and made lots of new friends! The build-your-own pizzas were a hit with young and old, and the craftiness of Erik was on display again as he helped the children [...] This Saturday sees the last in our year-long series of community information sessions provided for our neighbours at HTR. A local interior decorator will be talking to us about kitchen and bath renovations and answering all your questions. We will get going at 1:30 with a meal, and then move on to the presentation by about 2:15. Hope [...] And another special request means that we’ll be doing create-your-own pizza night this week. We’ll assemble and bake them fresh again. Probably a good thing to be downstairs with warm ovens ‘cos it looks like rain!
